Showcasing a Remarkable WOMEN Unlimited Participant

“Many women lack confidence and self-worth and seeing the effect that #IamRemarkable had on the group really was eye opening for me. I want to be able to help women and make an impact, so I signed up to become a facilitator. It is amazing to see people leave the room after a session with different expressions than when they walked in. Everyone who participates in the session takes a risk by overcoming their discomfort and sharing their story of why they are remarkable; That alone makes them remarkable!” said Rachel Van Pelt.

Rachel is a current IMpower program participant. Rachel shared in her NY-based WOMEN Unlimited program that she has attended Google’s #IamRemarkable initiative along with other colleagues from Colgate-Palmolive’s Global Information Technology group.  This initiative empowers women and underrepresented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments in the workplace and beyond, thereby breaking modesty norms and glass ceilings.

“In a room filled with women of all different backgrounds, I was inspired by how the topic was so relatable to each one of us. I left the session that day feeling empowered and confident. Being a woman in technology, I know it can sometimes feel intimidating to speak up when you are part of an unrepresented group. I want to be able to help women and make an impact, so I signed up to become a facilitator,” said Van Pelt.

Congratulations, Rachel, for making a difference in the lives of many!
