WOMEN Unlimited, Inc. and Sony Electronics Know Why Women in Leadership Makes Dollars and $ense

San Diego, CA, October 13, 2017 – On Thursday, September 28, 2017, WOMEN Unlimited, Inc., the leading provider of organizational solutions and initiatives to empower women as leaders, was invited by Sony Electronics for an exclusive opportunity to discuss “Why Women in Leadership Makes Dollars and $ense”.

Sony Electronics fosters a work environment where every employee’s voice is heard and respected. In support of this effort, the breakfast was hosted with WOMEN Unlimited to discuss women in the workplace. The early morning event began with an overview of WOMEN Unlimited by Robin McNatt, Regional Director – San Francisco and Southern California, specifically touching on the three pillars of mentoring, education and networking, that are unique and maximize the participants’ full growth and transformation.

Laura Ash, SVP of HR at Sony Electronics, shared a few words about why Sony Electronics decided to partner with WOMEN Unlimited, Inc., how their nomination process has evolved over time and what benefits they’ve seen from their investments.  The majority of the time was spent on attendees asking questions to the four panelists:  Theresa Hill, Director of Supply Chain at Sony Electronics who has sponsored women in IMpower programs; Megan Delgado, Channel Marketing Lead at Qualcomm and LEAD alumna; Klara Farkas, LEAD Program Manager for WOMEN Unlimited, Inc.; and Danielle Daniel, Media Marketing Manager, Sony Electronics, a current IMpower participant.

Robin McNatt also reinforced why the programs are six months, or a year, in length versus shorter program options.  This enables participants to:

  • Be reflective in between sessions
  • Focus on their developmental objectives, and
  • Leverage mentors and the power of the room to assist them with their transformation

Each participant sets a vision of how they would like to transform and be perceived as a leader.  They receive many insights on their strengths and gain clarity on how they can make even more of an impact at their organizations.

“We were honored to be a part of this conversation,” said Robin McNatt, Regional Director – San Francisco and Southern California, WOMEN Unlimited, Inc., “and incredibly pleased that Sony Electronics has partnered with us since the beginning, and is a role model for how we work with new organizations.”

Cheryl Goodman, Head of Corporate Communications at Sony could not agree more, stating “Sony, as a leader and innovator, knows the value of a diverse and inclusive workforce. We are grateful to be at the center of these important dialogues with executives from Qualcomm and WOMEN Unlimited.”

The group wrapped up the morning by discussing how women contribute in leadership roles, how gender equity converts to business success, and the value of mentorship. After the Q&A session, attendees had an opportunity to network with each other.
